Because of its effect on the climate change, carbon dioxide emission from thermal power plants, petroleum refineries, petrochemical plants, hydrogen and cement factories became one of the most important global concerns. Therefore, development of new sorbent materials and CO2 capture technologies gained importance.A novel approach for this problem could be to employ an ionic liquid and to develop a blended solvent which can also react with CO2. In this work, because of the most appropriate hydrodynamical properties, such as viscosity, an immidazolium based ionic liquid (1-ethyl-3-methyl imidazolium bis (trifluoromethylsulfonyl) imide ([emim][Tf2N])) was blended with an amidine (or a guanidine) n-alcohol to develop a novel hybrid solvent. Previously, amidine (or guanidine) n-hexanol systems have been examined and it was found that they have favorable kinetics. In this work, as an amidine DBU (1,8-Diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene), DBN (1,5-Diazabicyclo[4.3.0]non-5-ene) and as a guanidine TMG (1,1,3,3-Tetramethylguanidine), TBD (1,5,7-Triazabicyclo[4.4.0]dec-5-
ene) were used.
