Özet
Despite the great success of Standard Model, there are still many problems awaiting for solutions. It seems that to solve these problems one needs to go beyond the Standard Model. Toachive this ultimate goal, the first step is to understand the Standard Model and its fundamentals. The next step is to acquire a thorough understanding of the challenging open problems in the framework of the Standard Model. The primary aim in this study is first to gain expertise on the Standard Model, focusingparticularly on the naturalness problem.In line with these objectives, symmetries and conservation laws, essentials of gauge theories, spontaneous symmetry breaking and theHiggs Mechanism are studied in great detail. Then, by concentrating on naturalness problem, the reasons why the Standard Model can be considered as an effective field theory are discussed. The fermionic loop correctionsto the Higgs mass and the techniques of dimensional regularization scheme are studied in detail.
