Çekici S., Topuz S, Investigation of the Relationship Between the Presence of Pain in Musculoskeletal Systems of Physiotherapists and Their Satisfaction with Different Beds Used in Treatment Physical Workloads., Hacettepe University, Graduate School of Health Sciences, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Biomechanics Program, Master's Thesis, Ankara 2022.In this study, which was planned to show the relationship between the beds used by physiotherapists in their working environments and their physical workloads with occupational diseases. Within the scope of the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 139 physiotherapists who were between the ages of 21- 50, had been working for at least one year, no excessive alcohol/drug consumption, and did not have a diagnosis of musculoskeletal injury before starting their profession were included in the study. The Scandinavian (Nordic) Musculoskeletal Questionnaire was used to assess musculoskeletal pain, Physical Workload Questionnaire was used to determine physical workload, and a questionnaire consisting of seven questions was used to evaluate bed use satisfaction. All evaluations were delivered to the participants via Google Forms. The relationship between the data was determined by Spearman Correlation Analysis using SPSS 23.0 program. The mean age of the participants was 28,00± 5,00 years. Fifty four of the participants were male and eighty five were female, with a median body mass index of 22,31 kg/ cm2 and an interquartile range (IQR) of 20,42- 24,34 kg/ cm2. As a result of the analyses, a negative and moderately significant relationship was found between satisfaction with the use of non-adjustable bed and knee pain at one year (r= -0,446; p< 0,01). There was a moderately significant negative correlation between satisfaction with the use of adjustable bed and disruption of work due to low back pain at one year(r= -0,469; p< 0,01). There was a low-moderate positive correlation between physical workload and at one week hand/ wrist pain (r= 0,387; p< 0,01). There was no relationship between satisfaction with adjustable and non-adjustable bed use and physical workload (p> 0,05). In the long term, it is thought that inappropriate bed use may cause pain in the neck and lower back due to biomechanically incorrect loading. Our study concluded that the use of adjustable beds is necessary to prevent occupational diseases in physiotherapists.
