Tugrul E., Investigation of the Relationship Between Sensory Modulation and Behavioral Responses Related to Temperament in 36-72 Months-Old Children with Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, Hacettepe University Graduate School of Health Sciences, Occupational Therapy Program Master's Thesis, Ankara, 2022. This study has been done by the aim of examining the effect of the relationship between sensory modulation and behavioral responses related to temperament in 36-72 months old children diagnosed with the attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The study has been conducted on eighty children, forty of whom were diagnosed with the disorder and forty of whom were healthy. DUNN Sensory profile has been used to evaluate the sensory modulation of individuals; and Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) has been used to evaluate temperament-related behavioral responses. The difference between sensory modulation and temperament-related behavioral responses of children with ADHD and typical development was examined using the Student's T-test. The relationship between sensory modulation and behavioral responses related to temperament was found to be statistically higher in children with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder compared to healthy children (p<0.05). A significant difference was found between the sensory modulation scores of children with ADHD and healthy children (p<0.05). A significant difference was found between the behavioral responses of children with ADHD compared to healthy children (p<0.05). Our study also shows that there is a relationship between sensory modulation and behavioral responses related to temperament in children with ADHD (p<0.05). We think that in future studies on the problems of children with ADHD, various occupational therapy evaluations, including the evaluation and treatment of behavioral responses related to sensory modulation and temperament, should be planned.
