Sezgin, A., Evaluation of the Efficiency of Simulated Patient Application in
Emergency Case Management In-Service Training of Prehospital Health
Personnel. Hacettepe University Graduate School of Health Sciences Simulation
Program in Health Sciences Master’s Thesis, Ankara, 2022. Prehospital
emergency care includes a wide variety of situations, from simple clinical situations
to life threatening situations. This study is conducted to determine the effectiveness
of the simulated patient application used in the in-service training of prehospital
emergency health care personnel. The research was carried out in Antalya Regional
Education Research Application and Simulation Center between April 2021 and
January 2022. The research sample consisted of 198 prehospital emergency health
care workers working in the provinces of Antalya-Burdur-Isparta, who voluntarily
accepted to participate in the study. In this research, data was collected using a
"Personal Information Form", "Simulated Patient Application Efficiency Scale",
"Simulation Design Scale" and “Student Satisfaction and Self-Confidence Scale in
Learning”. It has been revealed that the scenario-based simulated patient application
used in the in-service training of prehospital emergency health care personnel
increases the self-efficacy of the employees and reduces the anxiety in emergency
case management. As a result, the simulated patient simulation method is
recommended to be used in terms of improving the knowledge and skills of
prehospital emergency health care personnel, increasing their self-confidence in
clinical decision making and reducing the level of anxiety
