Nihani Divanı (İnceleme-Metin)
Özet
Nihânî appears as a mystic poet in 19th century Turkish literature. A descendant of Sheikh Hâmid-i Velî, he was one of the Halvetiye and Bayramiye sheikhs educated in his dargah. He was from Darende and grandson to a historian, İzzet Hasan Efendi. He received a good education and taught in madrasa. During his time, he was known for his Mevlid. However, his Dîvân was discovered much later. Herein contributing to the history of Turkish literature by unearthing Nihânî’s Dîvân influenced by Yunus Emre -where reflections of innovation movements in the 19th century Divan literature are observed- is aimed. The subject of this dissertation is Nihânî, one of the 19th century poets, and his Dîvân. This dissertation includes an introduction, three chapters where the text is analysed, and a conclusion. Each issue has been examined in detail. The introduction tells about the overview of the 19th century classical Turkish literature and tendency towards Sufism these years. In chapter one, Nihânî’s life, literary and mystic personality, contribution to nazira tradition, and works are explained. In chapter two, Dîvân is analysed in terms of form and content. Also, the reflections of the socio-cultural life of that period on Dîvân are emphasised. In the third and the last chapter, a single copy is introduced. The principles taken into consideration while preparing the text are determined, and Dîvân is transliterated. Changes seen in divan poetry in the 19th century affected Nihânî, too. In our study, the reflections of these changes on Dîvân have been determined. We think our dissertation, Nihânî’s Dîvân, will contribute to the history of literature and mysticism by shedding light on the 19th century Turkish literature.
