This research aims to analyze the perceptions of the women’s with children who are supported with the Social and Economic Support (SED) service for one year and for a long time, without a protection decision, regarding the concept of poverty and their daily life experiences, through nutrition, shelter, education, health, and social life, which are included in the fundamental rights. This study aims to evaluate the process of benefiting from the service, revealing coping methods arising from the difficulties encountered and reveal the change this service has brought about in current poverty perceptions and experiences. In this study, which is based on the phenomenological approach and designed in a qualitative design, in-depth interviews were conducted with 15 women through a semi-structured interview form, using maximum diversity sampling. After completing the data construction process, the data acquired were analyzed through thematic analysis. In this framework, three main themes became visible Women’s Perceptions of Poverty, Women’s Poverty Experiences and Coping Methods, Evaluation of SED Service. As a result of the research, disadvantaged women’s defined the concept of poverty as not being able to reach the needs such as nutrition, shelter, clothing and a concept that causes social exclusion outside the monetary system. It has been understood that they are in a micro-and mezzo-scale questioning within the scope of the causes of poverty, they experience many different negative emotions at the same time in the life of poverty and they develop methods of struggle within the framework of both these feelings and inaccessible rights. In the standard methods of struggle, there is a duality between philanthropy and rights-based policies. It has been observed that daily life experiences cause problems related to gender roles and those women’s are far below a minimum human lifeline. It has been understood that the SED service has created significant transformations in the perception and experience of poverty and that the service is used to achieve fundamental rights. Recommendations have been developed regarding the strengthening of family members who benefit from the service and the implementation of the SED service.
