Özet
Social media becoming widespread and an available space to all has caused a lot of moments of our lives to become visible and violence has also become a visible part of our lives on social media. This study discusses the visibility of violence against women, animals, children and men on social media and its intersectionality and tackles the awareness of social media users on the subject matter within the context of feminist care theory. Having the content on violence published between the dates January 1st of 2021 and July 31st of 2021 on a website which is both a news site and a social media platform named Onedio and the comments left by the users on said content as the unit of analysis, this study uses the techniques of content analysis and discourse analsysis. MAXQDA qualitative analysis program has been used for data analysis. In light of the findings, this study manifests that it is certain that there is an intersectionality of violence and that the commenters have an anti-violence awareness but this awareness is expressed through patriarchal and speciesist codes.
