Türk Kızılay’ında Görev Yapan Sağlık Çalışanlarının Yeni Koronavirüs Hastalığından (Covıd-19) Etkilenme Durumları

ÇITAK H., Affected status of healthcare workers working in the Turkish Red Crescent from the New Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), Hacettepe University Graduate School Health Sciences Institute Health Education Program Master's Thesis, Ankara, 2022. New Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), caused the pandemic. Health workers have been one of the most needed, affected and supported groups. In this study, it was aimed to reveal the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic of healthcare professionals working within the Turkish Red Crescent. The population of this descriptive study consisted of 2636 healthcare professionals working in the Turkish Red Crescent and 480 people participated in the research. The data of the research were collected in the period of May, June and July 2021 with the prepared data collection form. SPSS program (version 23.0) was used for data entry and analysis. The mean age and standard deviation in the study were 36±8.28. 51.7% (n=248) of the participants were female and 48.3% (n=232) were male. 60.6% (n=291) of the participants are undergraduate or higher graduates. 20.4% (n=98) of the participants in the study were diagnosed with COVID-19. It was determined that the emotions the participants definitely felt during the COVID-19 process were "fear of losing loved ones (75.8%, n=364)", "anxiety (66.3%, n=318), and stress (66%, n=317). A relation was found between insomnia and sleep disorders and the status of being diagnosed with COVID-19. (p<0.05) The frequency of those diagnosed with COVID-19 and experiencing insomnia and sleep disorders was 62.2% (n=61). It was determined that 57.1% (n=274) of the participants increased in work intensity. It was found that 86.3% (n=414) of the participants did not experience a lack of COVID-19 personal protective equipment. 26.0% (n=125) of the participants in the study stated that there is a lack of information about COVID-19. The level of diagnosis and contact among healthcare professionals during the pandemic is remarkable. It is possible to improve the conditions may affect the disease. For this purpose, psychological support activities can be carried out to organize training programs with individual and/or institutional approaches and to relieve stress and anxiety levels. Thus, it is thought that it will contribute to the solution of current and potential problems to be encountered in the future.
