Özet
This study aims to reveal the support processes of parents (application, evaluation and possible termination) who benefit from social and economic support services, the effect of support on the child's well-being (welfare, education, health, participation, home and environmental conditions, relationships, risk and safety), and family processes that affect the child's well-being (root family structure, marriage process, sources of stress and coping methods). In this context, in-depth interviews were conducted with a total of 30 subjects (23 mothers, 4 grandmothers, 1 uncle, 1 father and 1 aunt) who benefited from the support, by means of a semi-structured interview form.
The data obtained as a result of the interviews were analyzed through the qualitative data analysis program (MAXQDA 12) on the basis of the interview instruction, the purpose of the research and theoretical approaches. Thus, three main themes were created: "Experiences Regarding Application, Evaluation and Afterwards of Socio-economic Support Service", "The Effect of Socio-economic Support Service on the Child's Well-Being" and "Family Processes Affecting the Child's Welfare". According to the results obtained, limited to the statements of the subjects within the scope of the research planned in the qualitative design, it was understood that the parents experienced bureaucratic procedures as a negative situation in the process of benefiting from support, some situations that weakened women were not taken into account in the evaluation process for the service, and no support was provided other than financial support. In addition, the fact that support is seen as a matter of life and death by the majority of the subjects and perceived as a salary may indicate that there is no plan for the possible termination of the service. On the other hand, it was understood that the support received was generally spent on the financial needs of the children, and no intervention was made for the other developmental needs of the child, including education, participation, home and environmental conditions. Looking at the data on root families, it was seen that the subjects experienced poverty from early childhood, the roles and responsibilities within the family were shaped according to gender stereotypes, and the mother had to undertake all the responsibilities due to the lack of a father. In the marriage process of the parents, it was seen that they mostly got married at a young age, the marriage without their consent was more frequent and the preparation for marriage was kept short. It has been understood that divorce, death, prison, domestic violence and harmful substance addiction, which the subjects describe as a stressful situation, directly affect both family relations, interaction with the environment and the well-being of children. These stressful situations negatively affect the relationship between father and child; In addition, it has been seen that it causes economic, social and environmental problems. Parents used emotional and problem-focused coping methods to cope with these stresses. These findings obtained from the study were discussed in the context of interventions to strengthen families on the basis of the structural family systems approach, and in connection with the findings, suggestions were made to increase the effectiveness of the socioeconomic support service and a psychoeducation program for single parents with adolescent children was created.
