dc.description.abstractThis case-study examines the existing elements of peace education in Federal Government Girls College Yola, Nigeria a traditional secondary school for girls. In this school, the role of women in the struggle to end violence, including direct, structural, and cultural, is prioritised. The purpose of which is to record the impact of peace education on students and teachers in Federal Government Girls College, Yola, using Paulo Freire s problem-posing concept of education as a theoretical framework.This study contributes to the existing research in peace education by highlighting methods used by Federal Government Girls College, Yola located in the north-east region of Nigeria. This region is currently faced with increased incidents of armed violence including attacks by the named terrorist group: Boko Haram. In this study, the importance of the role of women in the struggle for peace is emphasised.tr_TR
