Hareketli Grafik Tasarım Uygulamalarında Minimalist Yaklaşımlar ve Bir Uygulama
Özet
It is possible to talk about the development and evolution of graphic or visual communication, which aims to reach the target audience, in line with the opportunities provided by technology from the past to present. For example, the phenomena of motion and time have been included in design production in recent decades. Thus, communication forms called “motion graphics”, where static designs come to life, emerged. Motion graphics have gained a wide place in today's technology era, where living spaces are surrounded by screens. Thanks to the possibilities provided by the motion and time phenomena, it is now more possible for the messages to reach the masses and have an impact.
The benefits of the latest technological developments in the field of communication and information also cause confusion for the target audiences who are exposed to many images and information. Minimalism, which emerged as a reaction to Abstract Expressionism in the 1960s, has the power to create a breathing space for the mass by defending simplicity and plainness in the face of complexity. Thanks to the philosophy of Minimalism, which is based on the elimination of unnecessary details, it is possible to directly transfer pure information to the target audience, free from all unnecessary elements that will distract attention in the design. Thus, motion graphics, which are considered as "designs coming to life" and attracting a lot of attention, can come together with the simplicity understanding of Minimalism and create a strong association in reaching of the designs to the target audience in a simple and effective way.
The purpose of this research is to create a source that shows the relationship between Minimalism and graphic design. At the same time, it is to show to what extent uncluttered and simple motion graphic designs can meet different graphic design tasks such as information transfer and memorability.
In the first part of the study, the definition of motion graphics was made and its historical process and basic elements were examined. In the scope of the second part, the emergence process of the concept of Minimalism and its connections with graphic design were examined. In the third part, minimal approaches in motion graphics were discussed together with case studies. In the fourth part, the processes of the implementation studies were explained in detail. In different subjects determined in line with the information obtained within the scope of this study, three application studies in minimal style were prepared for information purposes.
