At the beginning of the research, necessary literature research was carried out on Bursa Grand Bazaar and Khans region. Later, it was determined to what extent the Bursa Grand Bazaar and Khans Area reflected on beliefs, traditions, rituals, life and values related to socio-cultural life, and how they contributed to traditional related to socio-cultural life, and how they contributed to traditional handicrafts, historical and cultural memory. In the study, which was prepared on the basis of the Grand Bazaar and inns that we consider as cultural places that exist and live in Bursa today, first of all, the traditions and cultural values of the bazaars and inns, the people who lived in them periodically, were evaluated within the scope of cultural changes. At the same time, intergenerational transfers of professional performers considered as Living Human Treasure are handled within the framework of cultural memory and cultural heritage concepts. Thus, it is aimed to reveal and analyze the change of cultural values from the past to the present, shopping and entertainment culture, eating and drinking habits, oral culture transfer and traditions that still exist today, with the methods and techniques required by the discipline of folklore. Along with the developing and changing social life in the bazaar and inns area, it has been tried to evaluate how cities have developed within the phenomenon of urbanization, taking into account all the stages they have gone through in time. Concepts such as ‘culture’, ‘cultural space’, ‘bazaar’, and ‘khan’ are explained after the Introduction section, in which the purpose, scope, importance, methods and techniques of the research are discussed. The urban brand is emphasized with cultural exchange, cultural interaction and dynamics that make up the urban memory. Relevant studies have been covered extensively. In the second part of this thesis, a detailed classification study has been carried out on the Living Cultural Spaces of Bursa Khans Area. The present conditions of the bazaar culture and cultural spaces of the Khans Area are explained. In the third chapter, the Living Human Treasures of Bursa Inns Region and Bazaars are analyzed in the context of UNESCO and the region has been examined from the perspective of people-space, space-culture. Here, there are also interviews conducted with the professionals who are considered to be the Living Human Treasures of the Bursa Khans Area, which is the center of the thesis. In the fourth chapter, the living cultural elements of Bursa Khans Area are evaluated in the context of traditions, traditional products and practices, events, celebrations, ceremonies, festivals and beliefs. In the last part of this research the functions of the Khans Area have been explained in detail. In summary, using the methods and research techniques of folklore, the Human Treasures living in the Bursa Grand Bazaar and Khans region have been analyzed with the concepts of space-culture, human-culture and cultural heritage in the context of the transfer of professional performers and cultural changes. In this direction, the Living Culture, the changing market culture and venues, and the current performance of the representatives of the tradition have been revealed as a result of the field research.
