Abstract

Non-governmental organizations have worked in the cultural, religious, political, economic and social lives of Turkish immigrants. Immigrants from Turkey to Europe through non-governmental organizations such as associations, foundations, unions and platforms they have established in the countries they visit, they carry out activities for the transfer of Turkish culture to new generations and for Turkish culture. Austria is one of the countries where Turks organize as civil society. In this project; The non-governmental organizations established by Turkish immigrants in Austria were examined and in this context, the role and activities of the non-governmental organizations in the non-governmental organization of the Turks living in Austria and the transfer of Turkish culture were examined. In this study, semi-structured interview technique of qualitative research method was used. In the research, interviews were made with Turkish non-governmental organizations in Austria, which were selected with the criterion sampling technique. Various observations and impressions were made in 9 different NGOs, and meetings were held with 15 NGO heads, managers and members. According to the results obtained from the study; It has been concluded that the non-governmental organization of Turkish immigrants in Austria forms a whole on the basis of religion, citizenship and nationalism. With the data obtained from the field studies and interviews, it has been concluded that the interest of Turkish society in Austria to NGOs is intense, and that the number of NGO members and number of NGOs are increasing day by day, and that the Turkish society in Austria has developed its social lives around non-governmental organizations.
