21. Yüzyıl Türkçesinde Yeni Ögeler ve Yeni Sözcükler
Özet
Change, just like in every living creature; it is inherent in language. It is necessary to record the changes of language which we can describe as our forms of existence. What makes this effort meaningful is to protect the sense of belonging that holds society together. The biggest change in language; takes place as a result of new productions for an object, concept or thought. New productions bring new derivations. Two basic concepts emerge in this regard: neologism and new word. Neologisms describe a new signifier-signified relationship in language, and this relation can be semantic or formal. New words, on the other hand, are the re-expression of signified with different signifiers as a result of various purposes or natural processes and this process is only formal. Both concepts are results of derivation, but they are separated from each other with the purpose they serve. The aim of the study is determining new derivations that are in daily vocabulary of 21st century Turkish but have not yet been recorded by dictionaries with the purposes of these two concepts, and bringing them into the dictionary, in other words, to record them. The study follows a map in the form of explaining the concepts of neologisms and new words at a discernible level, determining the purpose of the new derivatives and evaluating them according to the criteria for inclusion in the dictionary and proposing them for the Turkısh Dictionary prepared by the Turkish Language Association. As the main source of the study on determining these new derivations, new words and neologisms, an database of online software program called Türkiye Türkçesi Çevrim İçi Haber Metinlerinde Yeni Sözlerin (Neolojizm) Otomatik Çıkarımı, developed by Dr. Tahir Tahiroğlu, Prof. Dr. Şükrü Halûk Akalın and Prof. Dr. Bülent Özkan as National Research Project, has been used.
