In this study genre picture, one of the picture by subject types is approached.Harvest scenes in Ancient Egypt are the earliest form of genre pictures.Scenes encountered in daily life make different impressions on every person.Artist creates work of art by knead such responses. Therefore different artistwho approached on the same subject have created different works of art. Thesedifferences are also referred.North and South European artists have approached to the genre picture indifferent ways. While Northern European artists have portrayed villagers' way oflife without idealizing, Southern European artists have portrayed current andmundane subjects. An artist can creat a new art work by being influenced bywork of another artist. For example Vermeer created his Milkmaid picture bybeing influenced by a Woman Who is Pouring Water into a jar picture of GerardDous.
