Türkiye’de Risk Altındaki Ailelerin Psikososyal Destek İhtiyaçlarının Analizine Yönelik Bir Model Önerisi
Özet
Family has been an important institution for every society due to its functions, however, today it is exposed to numerous risks with the effect of global economic policies. Within this context, the main objective of the research is to develop a model for psychosocial support needs of families at-risk in Turkey. In this sense, throughout the research, data were collected via in-depth interviews that conducted with 15 families, 11 field workers and 10 experts (including academicians and ministry experts) by using the qualitative research method.
This research shows that; families are unable to receive effective and efficient psychosocial support, family support is generally limited to financial support, psychosocial support cannot be achieved without meeting the basic needs of families first, families do not have enough information about the present services, temporary aids do not save the family from risks, psychosocial support cannot be provided in a single visit, a problem in the family leads to chain of problems, there is no specific standard intervention model for detecting families at-risk, there is a difference between theory and practice, there is a perception that psychosocial support should only be provided by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, number of the professional staff in the institutions is not enough, personnel rights of the staff is insufficient, staff have to deal with a heavy workload and in-service training is not enough.
Additionally, this research indicated that the problems pose the greatest risk to families are; economic problems, unemployment, general education problems, problems experienced by children, anxiety for the future, lack of social security, unsuitable housing, early marriages, migration history, disabled or elderly family members, limited social-environmental support, having a family member with health problems, single parent families, violence, divorce, delinquency, alcohol and substance abuse, gambling addiction and polygamy.
