The world is currently undergoing an industrial revolution referred to as Industry 4.0. Many companies and nations, especially developed countries, take the advantage of modern technology, which is the by-product of new industrial transformation. Similar to previous industrial revolutions, technological changes along with Industry 4.0 has significant impacts on societies. Within this context, rapid developments in technology affect and transform the labor markets worldwide. In this study, the negative and positive effects of the new industrial revolution on the labor markets are examined. Furthermore, as one of aforementioned effects, the labor and wage polarization has been investigated particularly for Turkey. While making this analysis, TurkStat Household Labor Force Survey microdata is used for the period of 2012-2018, and the result that the labor market in Turkey has similar polarization to the industrialized countries is found. The observed polarization of the labor market and wages in Turkey is seen as the result of skill-biased technological changes that are pointed out in the literature.
