İkonografik Düşme Etkinlik Ölçeği'nin Türkçe Versiyonu ve Geçerlik, Güvenirliğinin Araştırılması
Özet
The aim of this study was to examine validity and reliability of the Iconographical Falls Efficacy Scale (IFES) in elderly individuals living in our country and bring it in to Turkish. The study included 150 individuals aged 60 years and over who were independent in their daily life activities and who did not have cognitive impairment. First of all, Turkish language validity of IFES was provided. The construct validity of the scale was examined by factor analysis method and a 2-factor structure was revealed. In addition single factor analysis was done. In single factor analysis, 52.22% of total variance was announced. For the criterion validity, the International Falls Efficacy Scale (FES-I) and Activities-specific Balance and Confidence Scale (ABC) were used. While a strong negative relationship was found between the long version of IFES and the ABC (r=-0.887, p<0.01), a positive strong relationship was found between the long version of IFES and the FES-I (r=0.910, p<0.01). Similarly, while there was a negative correlation between the short version of IFES and ABC (r=-0.834, p<0.01), a positive correlation was obtained between FES-I and short version of IFES (r=0.885, p<0.01). Cronbach alpha value for internal consistency and intraclass correlation coefficient for test-retest reliability were calculated in determining the reliability of the scale. The Cronbach Alpha value used for determining the internal consistency was calculated as 0.965 for the long version and 0.902 for the short version of the scale. Intraclass correlation coefficients calculated between two measurements performed one week interval were found to be 0.985 and 0.970 for the long and short version of the scale, respectively (p<0.001). As a result, it was concluded that both forms of IFES are valid and reliable assessment tools for older people living in the community without cognitive impairment.
