Abstract
In this study, researches was conducted on the family Coccinellidae (Coleoptera) in Ankara province. For this purpose, field studies were carried out in May-October 2018 and April-October 2019 in Ankara. 5310 specimens were collected. Totally 38 species belonging to 4 subfamilies and 20 genera were identified. Detailed locality records, distributions in Turkey and the World, synonyms of all identified species were given. With this study, Coccinellidae family of Ankara was evaluated and discussed in terms of systematic and taxonomic, faunistic, ecological and zoogeographic aspects. In systematic and taxonomic evaluations and discussions, the general morphologies of the 38 species were examined in detail, described and photographed. Male genital organs of 33 species, which have male specimens, were described, drawn and photographed in detail. Male genital organ structures were compared and discussed systematically between detected species and literature. Photos, drawings and detailed descriptions of male genital organs of Hyperaspis (s.str.) histeroides, Scymnus (s.str.) magnomaculatus, Parexochomus nigripennis and Tytthaspis sedecimpunctata were presented for the first time in this study. In faunistic evaluations and discussions, species numbers and distributions in subfamilies, genera and counties of Ankara was given. Faunal similarities and species diversities of counties was compared. These comparisons exhibited that Güdül for the family Coccinellidae has the highest species diversity value. In the ecological evaluations, the number of specimens, collecting months, collecting altitudes and air temperatures of collecting localities were determined, compared and discussed. As a result of these evaluations, June as collecting month, 501-700 m as collecting altitude interval and 30.1 – 32.5 °C collecting temperature interval were detected with higher species diversities than rest. In the zoogeographic evaluation section, the relationship between the Palaearctic Region and its subregions are compared. Similarities and differences between species compositions of the research area and the other geographical regions of Turkey were compared.
