Migrenli Bireylerde Duyusal Modülasyon ve Duyu Temelli Nöromotor Performansın İncelenmesi
Özet
Baştürk, S., Investigation of Sensory Modulation and Sensory-Based Neuromotor
Performance in Individuals with Migraine, Hacettepe University Graduate School
of Health Sciences, Occupational Therapy Program Master Thesis, Ankara,
2020.This study examines the sensory processing skills and neuromotor
performances of adolescents and adults with migraine and It was planned to
examine the relationship between profiles and quality of life. Fifty individuals with
migraine and 50 healthy individuals aged between 18-55, whose age and gender
were matched, participated in the study. The Adolescent / Adult Sensory Profile
questionnaire was used to evaluate the sensory processing skills of the individuals,
the Clinical Observation of Neuromotor Performance questionnaire for the
evaluation of neuromotor performance, and the SF 36 Quality of Life scale for the
quality of life assessment. When the sensory processing skills of individuals with
migraine were examined, a statistically significant difference was found in low
registration, sensory sensitivity and sensory avoidance parameters compared to
healthy individuals (p <0.05). When the sensory-based neuromotor performances of
individuals with migraine were examined, a statistically significant difference was
found in the parameters of postural difficulties, somatodyspraxia and visual
controlled eye movements compared to healthy individuals (p <0.05). A statistically
significant relationship was found between sensory processing processes and
quality of life of individuals with migraine (p <0.05). According to our study results,
sensory processing and neuromotor performance skills of individuals with migraine
are affected and sensory processing skills of individuals with migraine affect their
quality of life. In conclusion, occupational therapy approaches including
modulation, discrimination and praxis problems are thought to be beneficial, as
sensory integration problems are seen in individuals with migraine and these are
seen to be associated with quality of life.
