Eski Uygurca Zaman Kategorisinin Metindilbilim Açısından İncelenmesi: İyi Ve Kötü Prens Öyküsü Örneği

Abstract

The purpose of this dissertation is to describe tense category in old Uyghur text. The main goal behind the first chapter is to introduce the topics of the thesis and review literature regarding text linguistic. Chapter 1 discusses the terminologies ‘Foreground – Background’, ‘Tense’, ‘Aspect’, ‘Modality’ and ‘Prototype meaning’ that based on recent researches by linguists . Chapter 2 considers the various usage of the tense markers of old Uyghur DX, -mXş, -(X/A)r, -GAy and-DAçI. On the basis of it, each part sets the Prototype meaning established through the previous research results. A common feature of the texts that, when analyzing a particular text, it is possible to see that the text is preferred more intensely in terms of the use of a certain time marker. Chapter 3, based on the results of the study in Chapter 1 and 2, we apply to the text İyi ve Kötü Prens Öyküsü and analyze the frequency of tense markers use in the text. Finally, Last chapter summaries the previous contents of the study and suggests remains.
