Türk Kökenli Bosna Hersek Soyadları
Özet
In this study, the surnames of Turkish origin will be determined in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has been under the rule of the Ottoman Empire for about four hundred years; It will be explored and studied in terms of phonetic, structure (morphology), semantic and etymology.
Bosnia and Herzegovina society, which was under the domination of the Ottoman Empire for a while, adopted not only the Ottoman culture and tradition, but also some Turkish words and elements in the Bosnian language that it constantly uses.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ottoman Turkish language elements are also included in the surnames. These have various titles or nicknames as well as their special names. In addition, there are surnames derived from profession, military titles and materials, animal names, food names, place units, architectural and other structures, plant names, religious terms and abstract names. It should be noted that Arab or Persian elements are also included in these surnames. Since the fact that these elements also enter Bosnian language is through Ottoman Turkish, the surnames in question will be considered as Turkish origin.
Various books and articles have been written on the relations between Bosnian and Turkish language. Most of these are on words borrowed from Turkish into Bosnian. There has not been any serious study on anthropology so far. As is known, one of the fields that has not been touched sufficiently is the field of social anthropology. It is hoped that this doctoral thesis will also contribute to the field of anthropology and lead to similar studies.
The research plan and methods of this doctoral thesis study will be divided into three parts:
First part will include visits of the State and Historical Archive, Gazi Husrev Beg Library and Institute of Oriental Studies in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the tahrir and registration books in these institutions will be examined. Telephone directories, the biggest treasure of the surnames, will also be examined.
