Speech fluency problems of adults who stutter may influence individual’s behavior, cognition, affect and participation areas. Self-assessment tools are important in the evaluation of adults who stutter. The first of the holistic self-assessment tools was reported as The Wright and Ayre Stuttering Self-Rating Profile (WASSP). In this study, it was aimed to establish the Turkish Version of the WASSP scale, which was previously valid and reliable in 3 languages, and to investigate the validity and reliability of this version. The adaptation of WASSP scale was carried out in accordance with the procedure recommended by the World Health Organizasiton. 120 adults who stutter (18-54 age range) were included in the study. The participants completed the Demographic Information Form, WASSP-Turkish Version (WASSP-TR) scale and Short Form-36-Turkish Version (KF-36) scale with the first assessment. Then, the speech of participants was recorded during reading and speaking tasks in three minutes. Two weeks after the first interview, the WASSP-TR scale was reapplied to 25% of the participants. In order to determine the validity and reliability of the scale, content validity, construct validity and criterion validity, internal consistency reliability, test-retest reliability and inter-rater reliability studies were conducted. Cronbach Alpha value of WASSP-TR scale is between 0,858-0,949; The values obtained in test-retest analysis are between 0,765-0,992; The item-total correlation coefficients were found to be between 0,352-0,825. There was a moderate correlation between WASSP-TR scale and KF-36. There was a positive correlation between WASSP-TR and stuttering severity groups. According to the findings obtained in the study, it was concluded that the WASSP-TR scale is a valid and reliable tool as self assesment adults who stutter.
