Özet
The starting point of the research is to find out whether the parents' attitudes of child rearing and self-efficacy perceptions in child rearing have an effect on the motor development of their children as children find more space to move. In this context, it is aimed to examine the relationship between self-efficacy perceptions and child rearing attitudes of mothers with 24-36 months old children and motor development of their children. For the study, which benefited from the relational screening model, 24-36 month-old children who go to Daycare Center and Nursery affiliated to the Ministry of Family Labor and Social Policies and their mothers were reached in the central districts of Ankara. The sample of the study consists of 200 children selected by stratified sampling method and their mothers. ‘Demographic Information Form’, ‘Parental Attitude Scale’ and ‘The Self Efficacy for Parenting Tasks Index-Toddler Scale’ filled by mothers and ‘Gazi Early Childhood Evaluation Instrument (GECEI)’ filled by the researcher for the children were used as data collection tools. Pearson Correlation test, independent groups t test and ANOVA tests were used with the mothers' parenting attitudes and self-efficacy perceptions and psychomotor development of the child. At the same time, a significant relationship was found between attitude, self-efficacy and psychomotor development, gender, age, birth order, educational status, socioeconomic level, presence of other family members and the number of children in the family. The results obtained were discussed and interpreted by scanning the related literature.
