Pet Şişelerden İçme Suyuna Geçen Antimon Miktarının Belirlenmesi
Abstract
In recent years, use of plastics in various forms has become an inevitable part of our lives. The water industry has easily replaced glass with PET plastic bottles. Poly(ethylene terephthalate) is known to by its common name, PET, in our daily life. Antimony (Sb2O3) is used as a catalyst in 90% of PET manufacturing worldwide because of its high catalytic activity and cost effective properties. The environmental factors such as storage time, and exposure to sunlight and hot climate conditions may influence the release of antimony from the catalysts into the water.Determination of metal ions in water, biological and food samples is important for analytical chemistry. However, the determination of metals in water and food samples is difficult due to various factors, especially the low concetrations and matrix effects. Therefore, some methods were developed for preconcentration and separation of analyte before determination.
