Triturus Karelinii (Urodela: Salamandrıdae) Türünde Siyatik Sinir Rejenerasyonunun Davranışsal, Elektrofizyolojik ve Moleküler Yöntemlerle İncelenmesi

Peripheral nerve injuries are frequently observed cases. The curability rate can change due to injury type, location of the damage and time to start treatment, although treatable cases are generally low. The regenerative capacity is limited to the embryonic period in many mammalian tissues, but in urodele amphibians it continues during adulthood. Within the scope of this thesis, it is aimed to clarify the recovery period of Triturus karelinii species after sciatic nerve damage. As a result of the study, this species which belongs to class Amphibia, order Urodela, has the highest regenerative capacity through the vertebrates, which is assessed by walking track analysis, electrophysiological recordings and proteomic strategies. The sciatic nerves of the newts were transected and the recovery period is examined in six time points which are 0-3rd and 24th hours, 7th, 14th, 21st and 35th days postoperatively.
