Alburnus (Teleostei: Cyprinidae) Cinsi Üzerine Morfometrik ve Filogenetik Araştırmalar
Abstract
Aim of this investigaton is to exhibit interspecific and intraspecific variations among Alburnus genus by means of morphometric and genetic analyses. Metric and meristic measurements were conducted in 13 species captured from different basins. Landmark based geomorphometric analyses were conducted in addition to traditional morphometric analyses. Following these morphometry studies, cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) sequence analysis from 42 specimens belonging to 10 species are added up with sequences gathered from GenBank and analyzed together.According to obtained results geometric morphometric analysis was proved to be succesfull in determination of species belonging to Alburnus genus. According to comparison of consistencies between geometric and traditional morphometrics former was found to be more succesfull by means of group assignments. Eye diameter length which was one of the traditional morphometrics measurement was found to contribute significantly to PC2, PC3 and PC4.
