Yüksek Fruktozlu Mısır Şurubunun Sıçanlarda Subkronik Etkisinin Araştırılması
Abstract
In the present study, we investigated the effects of high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), which is a sweetener that is prevalently found in many food and beverages, comparing with sucrose which is known as table sugar . For this purpose, rats drinking water in content of 15% HFCS and sucrose was administered to rats for 90 days .During the experiment, body weights, body mass index, and blood glucose levels were determined in rats. At the end of the experiment blood samples were taken and leptin and insulin hormone levels and alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), ure, uric acid, trigliserid, glucose, creatinine were determined in serum and plasma samples. Pancreas and liver were dissected and tissues were investigated potential histopathologic findings and monitorized in different magnifications by the Leica light microscopy. Insulin and leptin hormone levels were significantly higher in rats recieved HFCS and sucrose compared to controls.
