Abstract

Eleven stations were studied in this thesis on some streams in the province of Bolu. Water samples and benthic macroinvertebrates were collected in 29-30 June 2011. Nitrite, nitrate, ammonium and sulphate analyses of water samples taken from the stations were conducted and turbidity values were measured at the laboratory. During field studies, pH, water temperature, dissolved oxygen, electrical conductivity were measured and information about stream zones, structure of substratum, stream wide in normal and dry period, riparian vegetation and human effect around the station were noted. Collected 32290 benthic macroinvertebrates were identified in the lowest possible level and 81 taxa belonging to 8 classes were determined as Turbellaria, Bivalvia, Oligochaeta, Hirudinea, Arachnida, Malacostraca, Entognatha and Insecta.Shannon-Wiener, Simpson, Margalef Diversity Index, Pielou Evenness Index, BMWP, ASPT, Taxa Number and EPT Taxa Number values of the stations were determined by using A
