Egzersiz Tedavisine Dirençli Tek Taraflı Patellofemoral Ağrı Sendromlu Hastalarda, Diz Proprioception ve Quadriceps Kası Yüzeyel Emg Cevaplarının Tıbbi Hipnoz Altında İncelenmesi
Özet
Patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS) is a common pathology in adolescents and young adults with unknown pathology and there is also no agreement on classification and treatment protocols of the PFPS. It is known that unilateral PFPS patient?s uninvolved knee shows symptoms like involved knee because of a mechanism in spinal cord or higher levels. In addition, it is not possible to obtain success in treatment of some PFPS patients. It is known that these patients have higher anxiety scores then normal population. The purpose of this study is to investigate the treatment possibility of patients with unilateral patellofemoral pain syndrome, who have resistance to physical exercise programs, by an anxiety inhibitory medical hypnosis application; and the investigation of PFPS symptoms measured by KsEMG under medical hypnosis. At the end of a 12 week treatment program clinically and statistically significant changes were observed in terms of muscle force (15-17 kg), proprioception tests (1,63°-2,59°), Kujala (47 %), STAI (16 %) and VAS (42 %). As a result, symptoms of PFPS patients, who have joined physiotherapy and rehabilitation program at least three times in last five years, could be controlled by a supplement method which can suppress the anxiety of patients. Future studies may focus on treatment of PFPS patients with physical therapy and other psychotherapies and effectiveness of these therapies.
