Abstract

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is one of the most significant health problem which is defined as a glucose intolerance of any degree with onset or first recognition during pregnancy. The study was planned to compare the nutritional status, anthropometric measurements, several biochemical findings in special serum vitamin D levels of women with and without GDM and to determine the possible association between serum vitamin D levels, nutritional status, dietary glycemic index (GI), load (GL) during pregnancy and the development of gestational diabetes mellitus.
