Osteoporoz Tanısı Almış Yaşlı Kadınlarda Ağrı ve Kırılganlığın Incelenmesi

The research as a descriptive study is carried out to be examination of pain and frailty in older osteoporotic women. Sampling of the research was constitued 105 elderly osteoporotic women who applied to Hacettepe University Medical Faculty Adult Hospital Geriatrics Unit and Ankara University Medical Faculty Geriatri Clinic. Data of the study was collected with using data collection form, which was developed by reviewing the related literature, Geriatric Pain Scale and Edmonton Frailty Scale. Data was analyzed by using correlation, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis H Test, as well as descriptive statistics. 6.7% of elderly women with osteoporosis had mild pain, 67.3% moderate pain and 26% severe pain. According to the Edmonton Fraility scale mean score 1% of older women is not frail, 8.7% seemingly defenseless , 16.3% middle fraile, 44.1% severe frail. The deference between Geriatric Pain Scale and Edmonton Frailty Scale mean scores according to the age, sex, education status and additional illness was found insignificant (p>0.05). In the last seven days sad and depressed elderly women due to pain found to be more and also fraile(p<0,05),weight loss, depressive symptoms, and urinary incontinence associated with the fraility(p<0,05). Positive significant relationship was found between Geriatric Pain Scale mean score and Edmonton Frailty Scale mean score(r=0,271,p=0,000). It is recommended that nurses has to know the frailty symptoms and risk factors especially older women with osteoporosis who had a complaint of pain.
