Özet
In this study, various works from the Old Turkic period are analysed. Then the obtained data about the measurement have been identified and classified under specific topics among themselves.The semantical and grammatical words which carry out meaning of measurement and non-semantic terms and structures are found and exemplified with fidelity to their original forms from the transcripts.By putting the measurement words and structures as titles, this study tries to put forward and draw attention to the understanding of economical and the social life of Old Turkish people. For this purpose, instead of focusing on the fixed numeric terms; this study mentions the other measurement terms which Old Turkish people used. As well as names of general measurement and verbs about measurement; indirect idiom analogy, anthropometric and quantity terms are given importance and higlighted as main topics.
