Dersaadet’te Son Leh Elçisi: Franciszek Piotr Potocki’nin Elçiliği Ekseninde Osmanlı-Leh Diplomatik İlişkileri ve Uluslararası Boyutu (1788-1793)

Abstract

This thesis deals with theOttoman-Polish diplomatic relations based on the embassy of Franciszek Piotr Potockiin the years 1788-1793 and themain factors affectingtheserelations. After the introductionwhere certain notions, main works related to the topic and Ottoman diplomacyare argued, the first chapter dealt withto place to Ottoman-Polish diplomatic relations to 1789. Following to the second chapter in whichtheembassy of Fr. Piotr Potocki is analysed as a diplomatic fact, the Ottoman-Polish alliance project that isthe most important side ofPotocki’s mission is evaluated inits all aspectsin the third chapter. In thefourth chapter the influences of the events occuredin Europe in the years 1788-1793 and of the main actors inEuropean politics on theOttoman-Polish relationsare discussed.In this thesis in addition tothe Turkish and Polish sources, the British, French and Russian sources are also used.
