Abstract

In this thesis, Şehbenderzâde Filibeli Ahmed Hilmi, who is a prominent figure ofthe Second Constitutional Period, is evaluated. His position and importance is exploredin the very dynamic and active intellectual life of the second constitutional period whichin many ideological movements emerged. His ideas are evaluated in socio-cultural andpolitical conjuncture of the period together with the comparison of the other prominentOttoman intellectual s ideas. In this study, which aims to examine Filibeli Ahmed Hilmicomprehensively, his political, sufist, philosophical and literally characters arepresented through his works. Besides the works of the thinker, the sources whichinfluenced the thinker are analyzed and in this way it has been aimed to establish a linkbetween his ideas and the studies he was influenced. The establishment of such a linkexplains how the thinker s mindset emerged.
