The white collar people have been a focus for much recent research over the past few decades. There has also been a remarkable degree of similarity among sociologists that these people could be defined by using income, occupation, education and consumption patterns. Many, however, have paid scant attention to the role of labor process in the lives of these people. For many, the perception was that the labor process studies were discredited with the fall of grand narratives, labor unions and working class communities as well as with the growth of new technologies, knowledge economy and post-Fordist society. This neglect represents a missed opportunity to examine the intrinsic features of work and employment. Labor process studies, however, include questions of control, resistance and consent as well as skill formation.
