Hemodiyaliz Tedavisi Alan Bİreylerde Kişi Merkezli Ergoterapi Müdahalesinin Aktivite Performansı ve Yaşam Kalitesi Üzerine Etkisi
Özet
Hemodialysis; is one of the renal replacement therapy methods for chronic kidney patients. Although this treatment has effects such as increased life expectancy in individuals, it can also leads to conditions such as restrictions on activities, impaired functional status and decreased quality of life. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of client-centered occupational therapy intervention on occupational performance and quality of life in patients undergoing hemodialysis. The study was carried out with 42 individuals aged between 18-65 years, who were literate and undergoing hemodialysis for at least 1 year. The individuals were divided into two groups as Group I (awareness training+client-centered occupational therapy intervention) (n=21) and Group II (awareness training) (n=21). Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) was used for activitiy partipication and Kidney Disease Quality of Life Instrument (KDQOLTM-36) was applied for quality of life. Client-centered occupational therapy interventions were planned according to the Person-Environment-Occupation Model based on problematic areas and activities that individuals identified as having difficulty with participation. Group I underwent client-centered occupational therapy intervention twice a week for 8 weeks. There were statistically significant improvement in Group 1 in the sub-dimensions of COPM performance (p=<0.01) and satisfaction scores (p=<0.01). It was also determined that; there were statistically significant improvement in Group 1 in terms of disease effect (p=0.01) and burden of disease (p=<0.01), one of the sub-dimensions of quality of life. In terms of Group 2, only a statistically significant difference was found in SF-12 physical (p=0.01) and mental component (p=0.02) sub-dimensions of the quality of life in the intra-group evaluations after the intervention. In this study; it was determined that client-centered ocupational therapy intervention in hemodialysis patients improved occupational performance and quality of life.
