Abstract

Language, as a medium of communication, underlies the politics. Political opinions and actions are motivated through language; therefore politics and language are inseparably interconnected. The power of politics is dependent on discourse and the language it uses. Some certain patterns are used within political discourse and these patterns determines the effects of political discourse in time. Political linguistics, which is the combination of political sciences and linguistics, is just a new linguistic field compared to the other fields. Political linguistics covers the analysis of figures of speech, phrases, types of adjectives and grammatical structures which are analyzed within the scope of political linguistics.In this study, a particular data system has been formed for future studies by scanning all adjectives included in government programs of Turkish and German politicians.
