The reading habit, as the result of the individual behavior of converting the action of reading into a repetitive one, is one of the activities that leads to the creation of meaningful relationships between information and the individual. Besides, there are many factors, from personality owned to the group or community belonged to, that undertake significative roles on the individual’s reading habits. In this study, it is aimed at revealing the relationships between the reading habits and the social personalities of the group which the society describes as “social individuals”. A descriptive method has been applied to the data collected through a survey. The survey was applied based on voluntariness of 100 people participating in social events such as cinema, theater, opera and concerts in Ankara. Results show that social individuals have strong reading habits, they read every day regularly, at least 1-2 hours per day. Although according to general standarts these individuals are found to be at the well-read status, they claim to “not read enough”. This strong and positive relationship between social personality and the act of reading enables us to infer that “as the individuals’ intellectual level and efforts increase individuals social awareness and rational modesty also increases”.
