Elektronik Kaynak Lisans Anlaşmaları: Türkiye’de Kütüphane ve Kütüphanecilerin Durumu

Abstract

Parallel to the increase in the use of electronic resources, the license agreements to provide these sources come into prominence. The main aim of the agreements is to determine main restrictions and permissions between recipient (library) and vendor (publisher or provider). This paper targets to reveal current situation of Turkish libraries and librarians on the subject of license agreements. To achieve this target, a questionnaire was distributed to university and research librarians and 52 librarians responded to the questionnaire. As a result, it is founded that libraries don’t have a collection development document which helps to make license agreements standardized. On the other hand, the librarians have knowledge about license agreements and want to improve their knowledge levels. It is important to follow changings on electronic publishing for libraries and librarians by the reason of rapid developments on this area.
