Abstract

Information need and information seeking behaviour are effected by many factorso One of the most important factors is the occupation of the individual, especially if the individual is a scholar. In other words, information seeking behaviour of scholars is largely determined by their academic disciplines. In this paper, information needs and uses of social scientists and humanities' scholars at Hacettepe University are exaınined. Findings are compared with the results of previous studies which had already taken their places in the literature. Based on ourfindings, some reconunendations for information centers are also given.
