Lösemi Tanısıyla İzlenen Ergenlerin Aydınlatılmış Onam Sürecine Katılma Durumları: Ergenlerin, Ebeveynlerin ve Sağlık Çalışanlarının Algıları

Our study is performed as a qualitative study at Hacettepe University Hospital Ihsan Dogramaci Children's Hospital Pediatric Hematology Unit in order to determine adolescents, their parents and health care workers perceptions regarding participation states of adolescents diagnosed with leukemia to informed consent process, to evaluate the factors which affect this process and to provide relevant information to the medical personnel who render service to the patients with leukemia diagnosis. The population of the study is consisted of the patients with leukemia diagnosis aged between 10-18 at Hacettepe University Hospital Ihsan Dogramaci Children's Hospital Pediatric Hematology Unit, their parents and doctors and nurses who render service to the patients with leukemia diagnosis. 20 adolescent-parent couple, 4 doctors and 4 nurses participated in the research. Research data is collected by using in-depth interview technique. All interviews were recorded by the researcher. Recorded interviews were decoded and the transcriptions was analyzed by the researcher. Evaluating research data, it is determined that the parents participate only to the disclosure part of the informed consent process, they even face various problems at this stage; because of the differences between parents and health care personnel's attitudes adolescents access to the information about illness and treatment is limited; adolescents and parents have a tendency to leave the treatment decision to the doctor
