Abstract
To improve the academic success of medical students is an important aim. It is said that the learning capacity and motivation of medical studentss affect their academic achivement. The students display these features according to their academic locus of control and academic self-efficacy in the academic environment. In this study the relation among the achivement of medical students, the academic locus of control and self-efficacy has been analysed. It has been stated that the academic achivement score does not change according to their parents income and education level. The academic self efficacy scores change in terms of the contributors attain the medical school willingly, first rank choise, type of high school which they graduated from and the high school graduation degree. The students' academic self-efficacy scores display non linear increase according to increasing class level. The medical students internal and external locus of control scores do not change according to their parents income, the type of high school, the degree of high school graduation and bachelor degree. Checking the parents' education level, while there are differences external locus of control but is no difference at internal locus of control. External and internal locus of control scores change in terms of the candidate attain the medical school willingly and first rank choice. Internal and external locus of control scores alter in reference to contributors' academic achievement at faculty. It has been found out that there is a negative correlation between the internal locus of control score and academic achievement, but a positive correlation between external locus of control score and the academic achievement. It has also also been found that there is not any correlation between a self-efficacy and academic achievement.
