Abstract

This thesis examines Turkey’s policies in mass influx situations ever since the proclamation of the Republic, studies the processes of change in the international protection regime of the country and questions the reasons behind changes. This study, which aims to make an assessment of the international protection regime of Turkey, assesses how the international migration policy of the country has changed with the mass influx movements in recent years and duly examines the place of the temporary protection regime in international protection regimes. In this context, influx of Syrians into Turkey since 2011 and their status are discussed in details.
