Özet
The aim of the study is to develop a scale to determining pre-school teachers’ perceptions about gender in the classroom and to determine the teachers' perceptions about gender in the classroom. The study is methodological one in terms of developing a measurement tool for determining the pre-school teachers' perceptions about gender in the classroom, and a descriptive one in terms of determining teachers' perceptions about gender in the classroom. The study group of the study consists of 493 pre-school teachers working in independent kindergartens, kindergartens within primary schools and kindergartens within the elementary schools in Nevşehir, Kırşehir, Niğde and Aksaray provinces. In order to reveal the factor structure of the scale, SPSS 23 and AMOS package program have used in the analysis of the data. The scale consisted of 4 sub-dimensions and 42 items. The reliability coefficients calculated using Cronbach Alpha, Guttman-Split Half and Spearman-Brown tests are greater than .70 for all sub-dimensions. The scale form has been applied to a group of teachers, and their perceptions have been determined. It is seen that gender perceptions of the teachers change according to their professional seniority and their participation in educational activities but their perceptions do not change according to the number of boys and girls in the classes.
