Protoiurus Kraepelini (Scorpıones: Iurıdae) Zehrinin Peptidomik Karakterizasyonu ve Biyoaktivite Taraması

Animal venoms are mixture of biologically active or inactive substances. They comprise variety of bioactive molecules such as proteins, peptides , polyamines neurotoxins, enzymes , nucleic acids, free amino acids, monoamines, free acids and inorganic salts with unlimited biological functions. However, the main components are proteins and peptides having biological activity. Venom peptides possess pharmacological importance. These peptides are defined as peptide libraries consisting of millions of years by natural selection in the evolutionary process and are a major source in case of development of new drugs .The aim of this study is to characterize venom of Protoiurus kraepelini, a species of scorpions endemic to our country in Turkey, focusing on the content of the venom peptide and check for bioactivity. Peptidomic biochemical approaches have been followed for this purpose and also for detecting bioactivity cellular systems were used.
