The female figure has often been a source of inspiration of the arts. In this dissertation, the female body is deformed as result of breast cancer which is common in recent years has interpreted in an original form of ceramic art.
In the first part of the study it’s been discussed the role of women in the arts in the prehistoric period. In the second section, the artists working on the female figure of various art movements are examined. Last section is intended to express self examination, observation and aesthetic concerns of women suffering breast cancer based on a philosophical perspective. Breast cancer is intended to express artistically in ceramic forms by considering plastic concerns.
