Eski Türkçe Tantrik Bir Metin: Uṣṇīṣa Vijayā Dhāraṇī Sūtra

Abstract

In this study, is discussed the Old Uyghur Uṣṇīṣavijayā dhāraṇī, the Sanskrit name is Ārya-sarva-durgati-pariśodhana-Uṣṇīṣavijayānāma-dhāraṇī. Uṣṇīṣa Vijayā Sūtra which means “victorious goddess”, is portrayed by believers in Tantric Buddhism as an entity that represents fearlessness, charity and compassion with eight-arm, green, white and blue heads. The work was probably transferred from a Tibetan or Tibetan version to the old Uyghur language. There are versions of the work in languages such as Chinese, Sanskrit, Tibetan and Mongolian. The Uyghur version of the work goes back to the 13th or 14th century when its language characteristics and printing technique are considered. The fragments of the old Uyghur version are preserved in the Berliner Turfansammlung. Our study consists of Introduction, Berlin Fragments, Comparative Text, Translation, Notes, Indexes, Facsimile sections. In the Introduction, Tantric Buddhism belongs to the text and the basic concepts of this school are given. In addition, in the Introduction section, information about the text named Uṣṇīṣa Vijayā was given to the subject of Old Uyghur text, the history of translation and the works on the text and new readings. In the Berlin Fragments section, the Uyghur text is given information about the parts of Yakup and Knüppel (2007) and Yakup (2009) catalogs. In the Comparative Text section, transcription and transliteration of the fragments of Uyghur texts were made. Where necessary, parallel fragments are shown in the footnote. In the Translation section of to Turkey Turkish, the texts belonging to the old Uighur were translated into today's Turkish. In the Translation section of to Turkey Turkish, the texts belonging to the old Uighur were translated into today's Turkish. In order to provide the connection between the previous sentence and the next sentence in the Translation section, the sentences transferred to Turkish are shown as (001-002) or (100-101). In the Notes section, the vocabulary of the text is divided into two to show the clarity of religious and non-religious terms. In this section, the first Buddhist terms in Sanskrit, Sogdian, Chinese or Turkish were explained and etimological information was given about the old Uyghur Turkic or Turkic words. The Index section consists of the Grammatical Dictionary. In the first chapter, the words in the text are arranged alphabetically and grammatically and the meanings of the words are given. In the Facsimile Section, the fragments of the text in Yakup and Knüppel (2007) and Yakup (2009) publications are shown in detail.
