MANVELIZDE Megi. Teaching Participles to Georgian Students Who Learn Turkish as a Foreign Language. Post Graduate Thesis, Ankara 2019
The structural differences between Georgian and Turkish are one of the reasons for the difficulties encountered by Georgian students in general Turkish learning process and in particular, teaching and learning explicit and implicit grammar. In the thesis, teaching and learning of verbal adjective suffixes were discussed among various grammatical problems.
The aim of the thesis is to reveal the difficulties encountered by Georgian students learning Turkish as a foreign language in Georgia in learning verbal adjective suffixes; In order to solve these difficulties, it is to present various materials and solution suggestions related to the teaching of participle suffixes.
Within the scope of the thesis, data were gathered by carrying out practices regarding the difficulties and mistakes of the students in the context by 3rd and 4th year students of the department of Turcology at Batumi Şota Rustaveli State University in Georgia.
Using the data, the problems faced by the students in the use of verbal adjective suffixes and the reasons for these problems were tried to be determined. Finally, in the thesis, suggestions for solutions based on specified problems and the causes of problems and material suggestions that can be used in teaching verbal adjective suffixes are presented.
